Columbine (Aquilegia canadensis) blooming in our production plots in late May.
A short versatile plant that likes well drained soils. Pollinated by hummingbirds and a handful of different bees, it is also the larval host plant for the Columbine Duskywing butterfly. They lay their eggs on the underside of the leaves.
