Native Wildflower and Grass Seed
Native Connections strives to sell only the highest quality native seed available. All of our native grass and wildflower seed is sold on a Pure Live Seed (PLS) basis. This means all the seed you pay for will be viable seed that has been tested for purity and germination by an independent seed testing lab.
Native Grasses
We produce our own Michigan genotype grasses on 50 irrigated acres near Three Rivers, Michigan. We irrigate our grasses only in cases of extreme drought and burn our fields every year to reduce weeds and increase grass productivity. Our native grass seed originates from hand collected remnant sites from within the state of Michigan. Some of this seed was collected as part of a project with the US Forest Service within the Huron-Manistee National Forests. In addition to our main warm and cool season grasses, we have collected many other species (including some wildflowers) over the last few years from remnant native communities throughout southwest Michigan. Seed Mixes
We offer six standard seed mixes, each appropriate for specific soil and hydrology conditions, however, we can create custom mixes that will suit individual needs. We use Native Connections grass seed in the seed mixes and acquire wildflower seed from reputable Michigan and Great Lakes region sources. Click here to review our seed mixes and prices.
