Custom Seed Mixes

We specialize in working with engineering firms, and project designers to create detailed mix specifications for all types of projects and landscapes. And we love working with residential and agricultural landowners, too! Our turnaround is fast and our attention to detail will make sure you get the right mix.

We’ll use your site conditions (moisture, soil, sun) and project criteria (budget, height, stability, etc.) to create your custom mix. With access to seed from nearly 500 species of grasses and wildflowers, we’ll carefully select a community of plants that will thrive on your site, adding biodiversity, long-term stability, and aesthetics to your project.

All of our mixes are based on the PLS (Pure Live Seed) weight of each species, allowing us to calculate an accurate seed count for the mix and each species. The seed count of the mix approximates the ultimate stand density and species makeup of the established community.

A well-balanced seed mix produces a well-balanced plant community.

We use our own Michigan Genotype seed whenever possible and acquire the rest from reputable Michigan and Great Lakes regional sources. We have access to over 500 species of grasses and wildflowers to choose from for your mix. If you don’t see something you want in your mix, ask for it and we’ll do our best to track it down.
